First time eating here and the only thing bad i can say about it was the wet table and food on the chairs, the food was very good with fast service, our server was Jeremy and was very quick with answers that we had, next time we go I will for sure ask for him, if the table was dry and no food on the table it would be 5 stars across the board from me

Itedakimasu! Hands down, our favorite sushi restaurant in the Triangle, NC. All-you-can-eat sushi, handrolls, Hibachi or Teriyaki, soups, and mostly fried appetizers + 1 of each kind of ngiri or sashimi (additional cost) for $24 each person ($15 on Lunch weekdays) is the ultimate feast deal for sushi lovers. We've been here multiple times & introduced this spot to relatives. While customers have the option to order individually, the All-You-Can-Eat sheet is the way to go if you want to feast delicious sushi & other aforementioned Japanese foods for amazing value. When you enter Mr.Tokyo, you are given a sheet with a list of items you can check to order. Here's our typical routine when me & my girl eat in Mr. Tokyo: Round 1: My girl and I usually start off with 1 sheet each. We get miso soup & our choice of appetizers: I usually get a crab rangoon and shrimp tempura & she gets cheese mussels. We also get 1 each of most kinds of ngiri & we save the best piece for last: eel ngiri, which we "toast" with our chopsticks. 1 of my favorites is the eel classic roll, which has a slightly sweet oyster-like sauce & my girl loves the salmon handroll, which has avocado & cream cheese (Yes, she loves cream cheese in her sushi & handrolls). On the same first sheet, we usually get 1 of their yummy sushis each. Her fave is the YipYip Roll, which has salmon, cream cheese, mango, spicy mayo, etc,. I' not a big fan of sushi with cream cheese so this is not my personal favorite but I think it's oishii. My fave sushis are: Blackpepper Tuna, Deep Blue & we both enjoy the Dragon Roll. We've tried other sushis in the menu & we think most of them are worth trying at least once but the ones we mentioned are sushis we've ordered multiple times (once each every visit) & we'll definitely order again. Of course, we dip most of them in sodium-free soy sauce. Round 2: We just use 1 sheet & we usually get 1 miso soup that we share, 1 or 2 more salmon handrolls & cheese mussels for her, 1 or 2 sushi rolls & Hibachi Steak & Shrimp with NO rice. Their Hibachi steak is actually higher quality than most Hibachi restaurants & shrimps are satisfyingly good. Most of the appetizers I get come with sweet sauce. While none of them are particularly amazing, they compliment the overall meal well. Sometimes, we are both full by 2 rounds & if we get a 3rd round, it's usually to just add 1 roll or 1 Mr. Tokyo Bowl, the 1-per-customer-limited special item. Orders are usually served surprisingly fast despite being crowded most of the time. Waiters refill waters fast & we never had an issue with them. This place is clearly professionally-managed. Restaurant's ambiance is accommodating, with pleasant music playing in the background. Lines can get long sometimes & because of the limited space, often times we had to wait - sometimes up to 30 minutes. They usse a reliable app for customers waiting. Wish they could expand to a bigger space - even the Monterrey Mexican restaurant beside it is way more spacious but Mr. Tokyo's seats seem to get occupied more. If you love high-quality (and quantity) sushi & ngiri for a fair price, Mr. Tokyo is the #1 choice in the Triangle, and nothing even comes close.

Nice and yummy place I wish there is one near Raleigh so I don't have to go so far Quick TIP. Order as much as you can eat the 1st time. It takes a lot longer for your 2nd order to come through.... Also why isn't the booth bolted down...

oh my gosh. what a steal. i've been here around a dozen times and am getting close to perfecting the order . from the frozen cheese sticks to the tuna nigiri, there is not a single low point in the menu. safe to say i will be back (more than once). even if you think you're full, you can't go wrong with the miso soup. if you order less than 3 salmon nigiri in the first order, i'm questioning your sushi taste. pictured below is salmon + tuna nigiri, rainbow roll, and alaska roll. also would highly recommend the phoenix maki roll (it's a little spicy though). i will say the wait times can get tough if you don't come 10-15 mins before open.

I read reviews and developed first visit strategy. arrived 11a, no wait weekday lunch. miso, seaweed salad, edemame for appetizers. also ordered 5 rolls on first round - philly, alaska, spicy tuna, salmon, tuna rolls. nice proportion of fish to rice. mowed it down. round 2 - tuna, salmon, flying fish roe nigiri. smaller, thinner slices of fish, but to be expected for buffet. still nice proportions, not overly made with rice. very full with 20 minutes left- ordered eel roll and salmon roll for desert. killer food buzz. excellent value, $16 big bang for the buck. fish was fresh and good quality. tax and tip was less than $21. incredible amount of food for the money. I'll definitely be back for lunch. probably also try for dinner. dinner is $26 but offers sashimi, yellowtail, eel, and a couple other appetizers that aren't available on lunch menu. maybe try hibachi or teriyaki next time too. I skipped the "specialty rolls" this visit, trying to avoid the globs of unknown sauces added to those rolls. EDIT: been 3 times now, its very consistent. latest visit, JUNE 9th, wasnt the best visual experience. noticed 3 ROACHES (PALMETTO BUGS are a complimentary way of saying roaches, and neither should be found in a restaurant). noticed early in visit, hostess was called over to a table and brought an electronic flyswatter shaped like a badmitton racket. she was trying to kill roaches with it. later noticed another roach crawling across the floor at table across from me. while finishing lunch, noticed another roach crawling on the window blind. others noticed it too. patrons on waiting list outside the restaurant noticed it. several tables inside the place noticed it. hostess came back with her electronic badmitton bug zapper, wrong tool. she came back with a rag and attemped to kill the roach while freaking out half the restaurant. management needs to do something asap to get rid of ROACHES, not a good sign for how sanitary the place is kept.
